not able to swipe from within a scroll zone to the next page

Hi there. I've built several pages within my app where there is a large scroll zone. I want this to scroll vertically, so checked that box in the HTML palette. However, if I do this, I then can't swipe forward or back onto the next or previous page from within that scroll zone. Has anyone else come up against this? Do you have a solution? I'm working on Quark 9.5.4. Thanks
