Any issues to note before swapping main desktop hard drive?

I have QuarkXPress version 9.3, running on an iMac under OS X version 10.8.2. I received the notice regarding the Seagate recall, which affects one of my computers. Before I take the computer in to have the hard drive swapped, I wanted to check to see if anybody knows whether there is going to be a problem with the way QuarkXPress's copy protection scheme, or license activation scheme works. I normally do a daily mirror backup using Superduper, so my intention is to have Apple simply swap in the new drive without doing anything further. I would partition it when I get back to the office and then restore the data from the backup to the new drive. However, I do know that there is some software which use the metadata from the hard drive to lock itself to the drive as part of its copy protection scheme. I'm wondering if anybody knows if that's what QuarkXPress does, and whether I have to release the license, then do the backup, then reset the license once the new drive is in place and the software is back on the machine. Thanks.
