A couple of annoyances my colleague and I have noticed about the latest iteration of QuarkXPress. Both of us are long-time users of QuarkXPress (going back to version 3, so we are not exactly novices). We have Mac Pros w/dual quad-core processors, 6 GB RAM, running Mac OS 10.7.5. Here are the problems:
1. We have been inadvertently creating random content boxes when we click the content tool inside the layout.
2. We have been inadvertently moving objects when all we mean to do is move the item tool from one object to another.
3. Images in picture boxes often display in low-res mode, particularly when a document is first opened, even though the links are good.
4. Guidelines do not drop precisely where they are placed; they are off by a point or two, and it takes a few attempts to get them where we want them.
5. Generally speaking, the application seems slow to respond--there is a slight hesitation when moving objects, scrolling, or creating content boxes.
6. QuarkXPress is crashing on occasion, for no good reason.
QuarkXPress has always been my layout application of choice, because it's been so reliable and responsive. I hope these quirks can be fixed soon!
Thanks!
