Hi,
I'm new around here so please, do not get mad at me if I'm asking some weird questions :) I went over the forum but I didn't find what I was looking for. And English is not my native language, so do not hesitate to ask for a better explanation if needed.
System infos : 10.1.0.1 on Windows 7 64bits clients with 8Go ram, QLA server on windows 2008R2. No new xtension added. Brand new computers on a 2008 R2 domain, with redirected folders and very light roaming profiles.
I'm trying to "clean" the Pdf Output Style list, so my users would not make errors when exporting with the right homemade Pdf Output Styles. (I have 5 of them, for different purposes).
- By default, built-in pdf output styles can't be deleted through the menu EDIT + Styles Output... But I found in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Quark\QuarkXPress 10\OutputStyles.xml
- I made a backup, edited the file and found all built-in styles where locked with the parameter "Deletable="false". I changed it with "true" and launched Quark. At this point, I was able to delete the non-wanted styles through the menu EDIT + Styles Output. I was just happy with that.
- But it was only for a short time. As soon as you close Quark and launch it again, all styles are back. A this point, the file OutputStyles.xml is not modified, but all styles are available in Quark. The file is modified when you close Quark.
- I tried to lock the file (checked the read-only box). The file is not modified when I close the application, but styles are all available.
- I believe there is a kind of security at launch, checking if every functionality is available. If not, a backup is used. Maybe through an extension.
Does anyone know a way to desactivate this security ? Or is there another way to "clean" this list of outputs ?
