I need some advise on how to import Excel data using the Tables tool. I draw my table to the desired size, then choosing "Link to External Data" when the Table Properties box appears. Instead of populating the table I have created, it dumps the entire Excel table into the page. I am able to convert the table to text (Table>Convert Table>To Text) and then painfully modify to the branding guidelines using my set stylesheets but the rules have to be individually selected to modify.
Is there an easier solution that anyone knows of? Such as Should I try Text Editor to dump the data into and then import into the table?
I'd appreciate any help I can get to solve the problem. I know InDesign is the way to go when creating Tables but I am required to do this in Quark.
