Got a quarky (pardon the pun) issue. I'm designing this document for print, when doing a general layout I will admit I was a touch lazy and just imported JPG files instead of doing it correctly and converting them to CMYK TIFF before ever importing them.
My issue is I have a box, let's just say it's 10" wide x 5" tall. It has a JPG (note, all of my JPGs are saved as 300DPI, RGB when I first convert them when I go through photos). I'm getting ready to print so I throw that JPG in photoshop. Now, since resolution is already correct, all I do is change the color mode to CMYK and save it as a TIFF. Doing this, however, cuts the image size (that is appears to be in Quark) in half. So, if that JPG fits perfectly in that 10x5 box, at 100%, when it's a TIFF, it would have to be 200% to fit.
Is there anyway around this? Or explanation for it?
I'm using Quark 8 on Mac OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion). However, I had this issue on Q8 before upgrading from 10.7. And at work, we have the problem with Quark 7 on Mac 10.5 (I think that's what we have at work).
When I import, I just click on the picture box and import it using the same box.
