AI vector file showing as very pixellated when applied as a tint in QXP9

Having ongoing problems when I import an Illustrator eps into Quark 9 – I want a 15% tint of a white vector file to overlay all images and text, but it appears slightly pixellated. If I import and don't alter the transparency it's fine, pure white, nice straight edges! So I've tried changing the tint value in the AI eps and keeping as 100% in QXP, no different. I've then copied the eps into PS and saves as a 300dpi bitmap tiff file – this seems to be ok, but where it overlays another AI eps it pixellates the area where the entire picture box is! Besides, it's hassle, shouldn't have to create huge files when the image exists as an eps. I'm at a loss, any help appreciated. Dean
